Last year our church community spearheaded a community-wide drive of gifts for 80 soldiers who were serving in the mid-east. This year, we have adopted a group from Fort Riley, Kansas who are currently serving in Iraq. During October and early November, we will collect items to fill care packages for these soldiers. If you would like to help, there are many ways to do so! If you like to shop, a list of items that soldiers appreciate receiving is provided below. If you would like to make a donation to help defray shipping costs, please make the check payable to the Lyall Memorial Federated Church and put “Gifts of Joy” in the memo field. Also needed are sandwich- and gallon-sized Ziploc bags, care package-sized boxes and volunteers to fill the individual boxes on Sunday, November 18. Please join us in helping to brighten the holidays for our soldiers serving overseas!
