In June and November 2006, the Binghamton, NY area experienced severe flooding during which many homes were destroyed or damaged. One of the hardest hit areas was the town of Conklin, NY, where 3-4 feet of water covered most of the town.
In January and February 2007, two groups from Lyall volunteered in the cleanup and rebuilding efforts. They were hosted by the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City and worked with the Presbyterian Relief Center.
More trips are in the planning stages, so contact Jeff Rarick or the mission committee if you are interested in joining them.
Please pray for the people affected by these floods.
