Mississippi Trip

Hurricane Katrina Relief Work

In April of 2006, a group of 16 people from Lyall went to Pass Christian, MS.  They volunteered with Camp Coast Care, who sent them to people's homes to do everything from painting to building sheds to taping and jointing walls and ceilings, and many other things.  They also volunteered with God's Katrina Kitchen, a tent where anyone can come and get a free meal.

For more information and stories, please see any of those who went: Linda Brusgul, Harriet Cole, Betty and Doug Doyle, Mandy Elliott, Myra and Isaac Lawyer, Sue Mcginnis (and her friend Carol), Diane Moretti, Kim Morres, Steve Papageorge, Jeff Rarick, Kristen and Carolyn Reid, and Katrina Wack.

Below are a few pictures of the fun and meaningful time.

Story of a Storm

Sue and Carol volunteered at Coast Episcopal School, giving teachers a well-deserved break from teaching to attend to other matters.  The one teacher and students of this school wrote a book about the storm and their own experiences.  Please check out www.storyofastorm.com for more information.
